Staff at Cottenham Village College, part of Astrea Academy Trust, are celebrating the hard work and determination of their students as they receive their GCSE results.

Year 11 were supported with extensive revision sessions during the holidays, after school and throughout the exam period, and made strong use of the extra help.

Teachers say they have been impressed by the year group’s commitment and work ethic, and the additional support has contributed to many students achieving excellent results.

Among the top performers are Kaveesha, who achieved six 9s and two 8s; Lucas, who collected seven 9s, three 8s and one 7; and Jacob, who was awarded six 9s and four 8s.

Interim principal Hanan McKeand said: “A huge well done to our amazing students. Their hard work, commitment and determination have shone through, and we couldn't be prouder of what they have accomplished.

“It has been a real pleasure to see so many happy, smiling faces in school today as students celebrated a fantastic set of results. They have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve their success.

“We congratulate every one of our CVC students and wish them the very best of luck as they move on to exciting new opportunities and adventures.”
