PHILADELPHIA — Phillies’ interim manager Don Mattingly was asked before Friday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals what bat he would have designed if MLB Players Weekend existed during his career. Mattingly, a native of Indiana, thought about it for a bit, before deciding he would get a bat that pays homage to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Throw some bricks and a glass of milk on a bat, and it sounds pretty cool.

Earlier today, we looked at some of the cleats Phillies players will be wearing. The bats are arguably even neater. As a reminder, here are the themes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

Off-Field Interests: Showcasing players’ passions and interests beyond baseball.

Causes: Focusing on charitable and community efforts that are important to players.

Appreciation: Celebrating the people who helped them on their path to the Major Leagues.

Here’s a look at some of the specialty bats you’ll see throughout the MLB Players Weekend from Phillies players.

Brandon Marsh

Marsh’s three bats are pictured at the top of the story. The one that stands out the most pays tribute to his sister, Erin, who is a heptathlete.

The All-Star outfielder also has a green bat for Saturday that will spread awareness for the HEADstrong Foundation, which “is dedicated to improving lives affected by cancer.”

Bryson Stott

One of baseball’s hottest hitters, Stott has a few specialty bats to go with his sick cleats.

As you can see above, Victus produced a bat for Stott that features “Jessie” from Toy Story 2. He also has one featuring the aliens from the original Toy Story. Additionally, the classic pencil bat will also be back.

Bryce Harper

The two-time NL MVP has a pair of bats from Victus that he’ll be utilizing this weekend. One should match the camo gear he’s been wearing at times during the season, while the other pays homage to his family.

Hill has a Victus popsicle bat for Players Weekend. He’s calling it “Purple Rain.” Unclear if that’s a nod to Prince or Future.
