Hope you enjoyed it

Thanks for joining us for all the thrills and pills in Baku as Piastri put in a mature drive to claim his second GP win, while Norris closed the gap on an out-of-sorts Verstappen.

We'll be back with you next week when the circus goes to Singapore. Until then, take in our other great coverage on Mail Online.

Piastri on top
'It definitely goes down as one of the best races of my career'

Oscar Piastri, Sky Sports:

I knew that if I didn't get past at the start of the stint I was never going to. So I went for a pretty big lunge which I managed to pull up and then held on for dear life for another 35 laps.
The last couple of laps once he dropped out of DRS were a little bit more relaxing but there's no such thing as a relaxing thing around here so it was hard work. It definitely goes down as one of the best races of my career.

'We lost the race when I didn't quite defend as well as I should have '

Charles Leclerc, Sky Sports:

I thought that when Oscar overtook me I thought it was just a matter of staying calm and trying to not overheat the tyres and I'll take him again later on. But actually it was a lot more difficult than that.
In the straights I couldn't get as close as I wanted and to be honest we lost the race when I didn't quite defend as well as I should have at the end of the straight.
Ollie Bearman makes history

The youngster just snuck into the points at the end of the race, and in doing so made a bit of history. After scoring in his first appearance in a Mercedes, he's become the first driver to score for two different teams in their first two races.

'The sun was coming down, you couldn't see anything'

George Russell, Sky Sports:

Driving full gas into a wall of carbon fibre [was the most difficult part of the race]. That was pretty crazy, the sun was coming down, you couldn't see anything. I was shocked the safety car or VSC didn't come out sooner.
The car could have been anywhere. Glad to see everyone is okay. It was a long race and glad to be on the podium.
McLaren take the lead in the Constructor's

It's been one hell of a turnaround for the team in the last few weeks. Well, in truth, McLaren have been on an upward trajectory for the past year or so. Today's result has seen them climb above Red Bull in the Constructor's Championship.

Their last win came all the way back in 1998.

Delight for Piastri and McLaren

PIASTRI WINS AZERBAIJAN GP

Piastri put in a superb performance, first to overtake Leclerc and then hold him off for all that time. Crazy to think that this is only his second season in the sport and he's handled that like a seasoned vet.

Leclerc is again unable to convert a pole into a win, while Russell gets the final podium place after the huge crash on the final lap.

SAINZ AND PEREZ CRASH

That was massive! Leclrec and Sainz gang up on Perez, with the Ferrari driver overtaking the Red Bull. Perez tries to come back at him before the two come together and end up in the wall in spectacular fashion.

This race will end under a virtual saftey car.
