Papaya party in Shanghai

What a day for McLaren, eh?

We knew their car was good this year, but my word it's just dominant. We are just two races in but it looks like we already know who is going to win the constructors.

Team Papaya secured their 50th-ever one-two in Shanghai today, with Oscar Piastri taking the chequered flag and Lando Norris hobbling over the line in second.

For Piastri, it was about as easy as he could have hoped for. No drama, he just strolled to those 25 points.

It was similar for Norris until his brakes nearly blew just laps from the end, but he held off George Russell... just about.

Meanwhile, it was a poor end to the weekend for Lewis Hamilton, who couldn't back up his sprint win with even a podium today.

He struggled from the very start and just had to settle with sixth in the end, not ideal for him - he wasn't a happy bunny.

Anyway, I am now going to dash. Thanks for joining!

Norris: 'I felt very confident today'

Lando Norris, McLaren driver, speaking to Sky Sports:

It's going to be exciting for all of us. It's tough but I'm still feeling good, with how bad the car was yesterday and the day before, I felt a good few steps behind in terms of driving and car balance.
The pace difference just shows when a car suits you compared to not. I felt very confident today, a positive for learning. I've been driving a McLaren for six, seven years, this weekend was a completely new one for me and I had to change a lot of things, glad that I got some answers.

Hamilton: 'I struggled'

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari driver, speaking to Sky Sports:

I struggled. I didn't have any rear end and the car wasn't turning at slower speeds. Yesterday, I didn't have that problem. I was just struggling with pace so I thought, 'let me try something', but it didn't work.

Will Lawson last at Red Bull?

Right, we have to talk about Liam Lawson, don't we?

Things just really aren't working out for the New Zealander at Red Bull, he is really struggling.

That may sound harsh considering it's only been two race weeks, but the evidence is pretty damning.

While Max Verstappen is managing to get a lot out of a tricky car, Lawson is getting basically nothing.

He obviously rose five places, but 15th is just not good enough when Red Bull want to fight for the constructors.

I'm not sure Lawson will be given that much time to turn this around - Yuki Tsunoda could be in that car soon.

Red Bull are not known for their patience...

Hamilton: 'Let’s not give up'

Lewis Hamilton, speaking to Ferrari team on radio:

Guys I know that was tough. Not the result that we wanted but let’s keep pushing. There are improvements we can make, for sure. Let’s not give up.

All smiles for podium-sitters

Now this is nice to see.

George Russell has gone full Mohamed Salah and taken a cheeky selfie after the race.

Liverpool's Salah normally takes a snap with the goalscorers, while Russell has done it with his fellow podium-sitters.

Lando Norris seems to be striking the pose that he was probably doing on that last lap - gritting his teeth.

He really had to do that just to make sure he finished...

'Far from any guarantee that Norris win the championship'

Jonathan McEvoy, Mail Sport, in Shanghai:

Emphatic win following Piastri's first career pole means that even if McLaren maintain their dominance there is far from any guarantee that the No 4 car driven by Norris that will prevail.

Drivers' Championship Top 10

I know it's still early days, but I think we should take a little look at the Derivers' Championship standings.

It's fair to say, things are looking promising for the papaya, and ominous for everybody else.

WATCH: Leclerc and Hamilton come together

If you were wondering what the hell Charles Leclerc was just on about, well, here you go.

Lewis Hamilton came across the Monagasque driver on the first lap and they came together, ultimately damaging Leclerc's front wing.

I think Hamilton is just a lucky boy that he didn't get a puncture there if I am being honest.

The fact that Leclerc managed to do as well as he did with that front wing for the whole race is pretty darn impressive.

Imagine what he could have done with a proper one.

Leclerc: 'Not Hamilton's fault'

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari driver, speaking to Sky Sports:

It's not Lewis' fault at all, I was on the inside for turn three and Lewis didn't know I was there. It's a racing incident, it's not the first and last time it will happen. It's a shame it happened between the two red cars.
We are speaking about a big big loss on my car, there was potential to do a lot better. We didn't want to take the eight seconds in the pits, so I didn't want to take that risk. I just wanted track position.

Celebrate good times

Just look at all that champagne... what a waste.

Only joking, I actually love the champagne moments in Formula One, they always make for great pictures.

The McLaren engineer seemed to be the target of the alcohol from all three drivers, the unlucky lad.

Just look how soaked he is!

Hamilton's struggles

Well, that wasn't a great day for Lewis Hamilton.

After all the euphoria yesterday with his win in the sprint race, I have a feeling he will be feeling rather flat.

While a sixth-place finish isn't exactly bad, it's not where you feel that Ferrari car is at.

He just never had the pace, from the start, and even if he battled against team orders for a bit, he was always going to have to let Charles Leclerc past.

Hamilton has a lot of work to do in that red arrow.
