He is a member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church and HIS former Pastor Ronnie Smith led him to the Lord and pastored him for many years.

He was either playing golf, talking golf, putting on the green at the Golf Course, watching golf or working in a golf shop building personalized custom clubs and/or repairing golf clubs. Our whole family called him Papaw Golf. He had an unwavering love and obsession for his hobby of Golf and lawn care perfection. Many thanks to his special friends Buddy, Jack, Ronnie, Tom, Gary, Keith and Mack. Also very much appreciation to the Owner of Creeks Bend Golf Course (Buddy Templeton) for being so good to my Dad for over 50 wonderful years and fulfilling my dad’s golfing hobby with the ability Buddy gave him to continue playing golf as long as he did. His love for Golf was like no other……totally unexplainable……
He retired from Pro Group Golf Company, 1959-1991. He also had a Golf Repair Shop in his home where he had many loyal customers for many years.
