Al Ketbi joined Zain Bahrain in 2003 and has held a succession of senior roles across retail, indirect sales, consumer sales and marketing.

Zain Bahrain has announced the appointment of Ammar Al Ketbi as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a new leadership phase for the telecom operator.

Al Ketbi brings more than 22 years of experience in the telecommunications and consumer sectors, with a career spanning key areas such as sales, marketing, product innovation and customer operations. In a company statement, Zain Bahrain highlighted his proven ability to drive business performance and implement growth strategies, particularly during periods of digital transformation.

Having joined the company in 2003, Al Ketbi has progressed through a series of senior leadership roles. His career includes positions such as Retail Area Manager, Manager of Indirect Sales Channels, and Manager of Retail and Franchise Sales. He later advanced to Director of Consumer Sales before taking on the role of Chief Consumer Marketing and Sales Officer, a position he held until February 2025. Most recently, he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Al Ketbi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Bahrain and has completed various professional development programmes aimed at enhancing his leadership and strategic expertise.

The company expressed confidence that his extensive industry knowledge and deep familiarity with its operations position him well to guide Zain Bahrain through its next stage of growth. It added that his leadership is expected to reinforce the company’s standing as a leading network provider and support Bahrain’s broader digital transformation ambitions.
