Telestream has announced the appointment of Benjamin Desbois as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026, as part of a planned leadership transition at the company.

Desbois, who currently serves as Telestream’s Chief Growth and Strategy Officer, will succeed co-founder and longtime CEO Dan Castles. Castles will transition to the role of Executive Chair of the company’s Board of Directors following the handover.

The company said the transition is intended to ensure continuity and support long-term growth as the media industry undergoes rapid transformation driven by developments in live production, cloud technologies, IP infrastructure, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.

During his time at Telestream, Desbois has worked closely with Castles and the executive leadership team on refining the company’s strategic direction, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and aligning its product portfolio with the evolving operational needs of modern media organisations.

Desbois brings more than 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment technology sector. Before rejoining Telestream, he held senior executive positions at Backlight, Avid Technology, and Dalet, where he led commercial, product, and strategic initiatives focused on media workflows, digital transformation, and business expansion.

At Telestream, he has played a key role in advancing the company’s go-to-market strategy and reinforcing its position among broadcasters, sports organisations, content owners, post-production teams, enterprises, and service providers worldwide.
