Enrico Salvatori, who has led Qualcomm's EMEA business for more than two decades, has decided to retire from Qualcomm in June 2027 after 25 years with the company.
Qualcomm Incorporated has appointed Wassim Chourbaji as Senior Vice President and President of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations, effective immediately. In his new role, Chourbaji will oversee the company’s strategy across the region and lead the execution of its business priorities across multiple sectors.
A Qualcomm veteran of more than two decades, Chourbaji has held several leadership positions within the company. Most recently, he served as President of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa (MEA), while also leading the company’s government affairs organisation across the wider EMEA region.
The leadership transition comes as Enrico Salvatori, who has headed Qualcomm’s EMEA business for more than 20 years, prepares to retire in June 2027 after 25 years with the company. Effective immediately, Salvatori has assumed the role of Chairman and will continue to oversee Qualcomm’s EMEA Automotive business until his retirement.
Akash Palkhiwala, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Qualcomm Incorporated, said: “EMEA is an important region for Qualcomm, and we remain committed to investing in its long-term growth and success, with Wassim’s leadership experience, strategic vision and ability to build strong partnerships across industry and government continuing to be instrumental to Qualcomm’s success.
“I would like to thank Enrico for his extraordinary leadership and contributions over the past 25 years. He has built a strong organization, expanded our presence across key industries and fostered deep relationships with customers, partners and governments throughout the region.”
