Cassie Sainsbury has revealed she is struggling to find a job following her release from Columbia's notorious El Buen Pastor prison in 2020.

The convicted drug smuggler, 28, revealed on Thursday she's applied for hundreds of job positions but hasn't been able to secure a single interview.

'I just want to be a normal person again,' she told The Daily Telegraph after quitting SAS Australia this week.

'I've applied for anything and everything, gym work, admin, hospitality and cleaning. It always comes up with, not likely to proceed.'

Cassie explained she doesn't want 'special treatment or to be in the spotlight' but just wants a 'normal life'.

'I just want a normal life – a nine to five job, an eight to six job, just an everyday job but I keep getting rejected.'

It comes after it was revealed Cassie was offered a six-figure salary to appear on the newest season of SAS Australia which premiered on Monday night.

A source revealed ahead of the premiere this week that the failed gym owner is one of the 'highest paid of the cast this year', reported New Idea.

The rest of the cast, which includes footballers, reality stars and Olympians, will only take home a fraction of Cassie's salary.

Most of the contestants will receive $30,000 for participating in the gruelling physical and psychological challenges set to them by ex-Special Forces soldiers.

'Cassie has been struggling. It's hard for her to find work... her CV isn't for everyone,' the source said.

Despite the six-figure salary, Cassie and Balinese princess Lindy Klim quit the show after just 24 hours.

Lindy struggled through the second day of challenges and admitted she was 'completely out her comfort zone' but said she was proud of her efforts regardless.

Cassie also departed, after being unable to face a challenge in which she had to crawl through a tunnel filled with water.

She worried that the cold, dark, confined space would remind herself too much of her stint in a Colombian jail, and refused to see it through.
