As organizers waited for the official ribbon-cutting Friday at 7 Evans St., many well wishers popped into the site — gutted and revamped for the debut of Batavia’s Lattimore Physical Therapy.Director and physical therapist Kelsey Milligan was happy to see the former medical building turned into a spacious facility for rehabilitation of clients. There were pieces of exercise equipment, weights, therapeutic beds, and one of her most used tools — a dynamometer used to test grip strength.“So it was a dermatologist’s building beforehand, so we kind of opened up the space. I wanted it to be a really open room. That way, we have a lot of room for doing functional activities and things like that,” Milligan said. “So we have two treatment rooms so far, and then open space for, again, functional activities and stuff.  “This entire place was taken out, so there were a lot of walls that had to be taken out, for the most part, some of the rooms could kind of remain the same. But everything was gutted, new floors, new paint, everything.”She is looking forward to opening on Monday. Meanwhile, Milligan and company owners and colleagues christened the new location with a ceremonial snip of a red ribbon out front.

Chief Operating Officer Dustin Maracle kicked things off with an introduction of Milligan: a Pavilion native and 2021 graduate of Nazareth College who enjoys volleyball, and took her first job as physical therapist at a Lattimore office in Monroe County.“She's been very instrumental in our Webster office. She's from the Pavilion area, her family is here as well. So we're very happy to get her closer to home, get her back to her roots,” Maracle said. “And Kelsey, I’m very, very happy, on behalf of the whole Lattimore family, that we're able to do this together, be here on this beautiful sunny day, and pass the torch over to you for the Batavia office.”Milligan thanked everyone for attending, adding that she is very excited “to be able to offer my services to this community.”“Like you said, they’ve ben looking into Batavia for a long time.
