Some kids sell lemonade to buy candy at the corner store. Peyton Quilliam has a grander ambition. The 9-year-old Batavia resident is saving to buy a car when he turns 16 and gets his license. Peyton Quilliam has a plan, and it starts with a lemonade stand.The fifth grader at John Kennedy Intermediate School this fall has spent the summer raising money for his dream car, including recently setting up a lemonade stand in front of his Jackson Street home. "I'm selling lemonade so I can raise money for a car when I'm 16," he said.Quilliam turns 10 in September. He said he started saving about a year ago so he could "be able to drive around" once he's old enough.Lemonade wasn't his first business venture. Before setting up the stand, he said he was washing windows until his dad suggested selling lemonade instead.Asked what draws him to cars, Quilliam didn't hesitate."I like that they go fast," he said.As for what he's saving up for, he's already got a model in mind: the same car his mom drives, a Chevy Equinox.For now, lemonade and window washing remain his only two ventures, he said.NOTE: My apologies to Peyton.
