Bassi easily won the Class A discus crown, heaving 173 feet, 9 inches to come within 3 feet of the meet record. He also excelled in the shot put, winning the Penobscot Valley Conference Large School title (54-9) and finishing third at states (51-3 1/2).

Britt set the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference championship race walk record with a time of 6 minutes, 23.03 seconds — the fastest by any Maine race walker in nearly a quarter-century — at the Large School meet. The senior later claimed the Class A state title, finishing in 6:24.55.

Ditanduka shined at the Class A state meet, winning the long jump (22-4 1/4) and finishing as the runner-up to Bonny Eagle’s Drew Gervais by 0.02 seconds (21.86 to 21.84) in the 200. He also was on the Red Riots’ 400 relay team that won the SMAA title (43.44) and placed second (43.12) at states.

Gervais dominated the 100, winning New England (10.78), Class A (11.07) and SMAA (10.63) crowns. He also won state (20.84) and SMAA (21.91) titles in the 200. Gervais is the Varsity Maine Boys Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and Maine Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year.

Also a Varsity Maine All-State selection in cross country and indoor track, Gilbert claimed Class B titles in the 1,600 (4:29.51) and 3,200 (9:42.25). The University of Rhode Island cross country commit also won Western Maine Conference titles in the 1,600 (4:30.22) and 800 (1:59.57).

In addition to setting the Class B championship-meet record in the 200 (22.17 seconds), Henderson won 100 (10.93) and 400 (49.71) state titles. The senior also won KVAC Small School crowns in all three events (100: 11.02; 200: 22.25; 400: 51.40).

The Varsity Maine Boys Athlete of the Year, Jones won the Class A javelin title with a throw of 162 feet and cleared 6-2 to place second in the high jump. The University of Maine football commit won both events at SMAAs (javelin: 150-8; high jump: 6-2).

LeBlanc won New England (15-3) and Class A (15-0) titles in the pole vault. He also shined at the KVAC Large championships, setting the best mark of any Maine high school pole vaulter (15-6) since Thornton Academy’s Travis Snyder (16-9 1/4) in 2019 and winning the 110 hurdles title (15.65).

Mankatu won the Class A triple jump title with a distance of 45-8 3/4 and was runner-up to Ditanduka in the long jump at 20-10 3/4. The senior previously won both events at the KVAC Large School championships, claiming the triple jump (45-11) and long jump (20-9 1/2).

Merriam shined in the 1,600 meters, winning the Class A title (4:16.58) and finishing seventh at the New England championships (4:15.01). The junior also claimed the SMAA 800 title (1:55.67) and took second in the 3,200 at the Class A state meet (9:39.44).

Morris swept the distance events at the Class C state championships, winning the 800 (1:57.11), 1,600 (4:29.76) and 3,200 (9:52.46). The junior also won all three at the Mountain Valley Conference championships (800: 1:59.05; 1,600: 4:23.76; 3,200: 10:00.85).

Patterson prevailed in a talented field in the 400 meters with a time of 49.43 at the Class A state meet after winng the KVAC Large School 300 hurdles title (40.78). He also starred on an 400 relay team that won the Class A title (43.09) and set a KVAC Large School-record (43.47).
