Link Freedom Group has revealed its strings.

Top level domain registry Link Freedom Group (LFG) has disclosed more than 300 strings submitted as part of the ICANN new top level domain name program.

While the entity name is new, LFG owns Nova Registry, which operates the .link top level domain.

LFG didn’t disclose the exact number of strings it applied for, but in March of last year, the company revealed on the Domain Name Wire Podcast that it planned to apply for about 200 top level domain names.

At $227,000 per application, the company has invested tens of millions in application fees alone. Contention set auctions will increase that investment.

Explaining the new entity’s name, Link Freedom Group CEO Vaughn Liley stated:

Digital identity has become fundamental to how people communicate, work and participate online, yet users still don’t truly own their place on the internet. From email addresses and social media profiles to personal websites, much of our online presence ultimately exists at the discretion of someone else. We believe the internet’s namespace should reflect how people use the web today, and our mission is to modernize how internet identity works.

Many will appreciate the company’s acronym LFG. In fact, the company is applying for .lfg.

On its new website at lfg.link, the company has disclosed all of the strings on its applications. They fall into a handful of buckets:

AI & Tech: .api, .agi, .gpt, .labs
Commerce: .order, .cart, .pos, .retail
Culture: .lfg, .goat, .tldr, .vibe
Crypto & Web3: .hodl, .invest, .nft, .token
Lifestyle: .nil, .god, .pop, .zen
Web Infrastructure & Utility: .bit, .platform, .gear, .core

It also has a series of domains that just include three repeating letters, including .iii, .rrr, .ttt, among others.

Beyond what the company applied for, it’s notable what it didn’t apply for. It skipped .agent and .crypto, perhaps deciding they wouldn’t be worth the cost due to intense competition. But it chose adjacent names, such as .agentic, .coin, and .btc.

Some of the names on its list that I think will be the most contested include .api, .hub, .labs, .btc, .block, .chain, .coin, .token, and .gpt.
