FIFA World Cup Fan Zone: Four days of cameos by incredible soccer stars, live bands, DJs in full and festive spin mode, terrific food trucks, and a host of offerings created to help fans connect with World Cup-flavored excitement are coming to Los Angeles Union Station from June 25 through 28. Check out all of the football favorites, music luminaries, and activities on the roster, then make plans to arrive by Metro.
Free Shakespeare in Griffith Park opens: Spreading out a blanket beneath some trees, all while terrific actors take to an alfresco stage to perform thrilling scenes that have been burnished by time, is a time-honored summer tradition. The Independent Shakespeare Co. returns to the Old Zoo in Griffith Park with two treats — “Coriolanus” and “The Comedy of Errors” — and a bevy of theme nights. Entry is complimentary but do RSVP in advance.
CicLAvia: Leimert Park Meets Expo Park: A lengthy stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed to cars on June 28, all to give people-powered motion room to roll. Some of Crenshaw will also be shuttered to anything motorized, giving cyclists, strollers, and everyone out to savor an easy and sunshiny day around 3.6 miles of open streets to explore. Community booths, vibrant hubs, and park-fun diversions are in store, too.
Sawdust Art Festival opens: This famous Laguna Beach lark is marking 60 creative years in 2026, and visitors can still count on colorful stalls brimming with photography, paintings, and blown glass. Watching glass artists create colorful (and hot) wonders is one treat, but there are others ahead, with music, workshops, and more dotting the roster. It’s open daily through Sept. 6, and, yep, sawdust still covers the ground.
Qwerty! A Typewriter Festival: We’re feeling a clack-tastic energy rising from the International Printing Museum in Carson, thanks to a celebratory day devoted to the typewriter arts. Buy a ticket, swing by, tap-tap-tap-tap on a host of vintage typewriters, talk with typewriter-smart pros, and shop from an assortment of vendors who have eye-catching items inspired by the marvelous machines. Hit that carriage return and be there June 27.
