Livermore Falls police are reviewing a recording and interviews related to a fight that occurred Saturday between parents and a coach at Griffin Field in Livermore Falls.

Video of the altercation, which took place on the sidelines of an Area Youth Sports football game, was disseminated widely on social media.

Once the police investigation is concluded, police Chief Abe Haroon said, the report will be given to the Androscoggin County district attorney for review to determine if any charges will be lodged against participants.

No summonses have been issued and no arrests have been made, he said.

One of the men involved is Cpl. Dylan Rider, an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputy, an Area Youth Sports football coach and a league commissioner. Rider was off duty.

In accordance with the organization’s bylaws and code of conduct, the AYS board of directors has initiated a formal review of the incident, AYS President Nixon Ortiz wrote in an email.

“Area Youth Sports (AYS) is aware of the recent incident and video circulating on social media,” Ortiz wrote. “The safety, well-being, and sportsmanship of our youth, families, and community are our highest priorities.”

“Pending the outcome of this thorough investigation, all involved parties have been asked not to attend any practices, games, or AYS events for the balance of this season,” Ortiz wrote. “This interim measure ensures a fair and complete investigative process can play out so that the Board can make informed, appropriate final determinations.”

William Gagne, chief deputy of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, said Tuesday that his office is aware of the situation. “It was brought to our attention and we are actively looking into the matter internally,” he said.

A short video recording of the altercation was posted on Facebook by Donna Jewell, who accuses Rider of assaulting her and her husband.

The video shows Jewell going up to Rider with a puppy in her arms. It appears she makes contact with Rider, who turns toward her as her hands go up toward Rider’s face. He grabs Jewell’s arms and pushes her to the ground as he makes his way toward a fight between two men. One of those men was Rider’s father.

Rider’s son also plays on the youth football team. Jewell is the parent of an athlete as well.

Rider wrote on his Facebook post that he was punched and scratched by Jewell, and that his father was allegedly punched in the stomach by the other man.

Jewell, whose post of the video has more than 1,300 comments, did not return a request for comment. In a Facebook post, she said an attorney had advised her and her husband to not discuss the issue in public anymore.

Rider’s attorney, Andre “AJ” Hungerford, wrote in an email,  “Because there is an investigation of events on Saturday, October 10, 2026 involving various parties, including Dylan Rider, I am withholding comment until a more appropriate time.”
