Can iCopy instances in an assembly be easily tabulated?

Дата публикации: 15-10-2026 16:14:52

Hello everyone, I've been playing around in setting up assembly templates that are authored to produce iCopies on production assemblies. I'm getting the hang of it, and am now trying to see how this impacts work on drawings. Since my main assemblies now consist of, usually, some base part and numerous iCopies of the same type on it, I'm wondering if there's some way to generate tables of these iCopies and their parameters. Is there? As an example, I would love to be able to start with an iCopy template assembly that sets up nozzles. I would then have 10 to 15 iCopies of these on a tank, constrained to the same reference geometry, with parameters in the iCopy authoring for elevation, orientation, standout, size and schedule. Then in the drawing I'd like to say, "hey, check this or that assembly (and maybe its sub-assemblies) for iCopies of type 'nozzle', and tabulate all the instances you find, along with the parameters mentioned above, and maybe add a custum column for the nozzle mark." Implementing a nozzle mark might also be achieved by adding a 'text' user parameter to the iCopy template to read out, but hopefully the gist of what I'm hoping for is clear. If I use iCopy to populate my assembly with a variety of similar objects with differing parameters regarding placement, sizing etc. can I tabulate this data to make it more accessible instead of having to dimension every item manually in the drawing? And if so, how? Because I *can* select an assembly or view for a general table, but it always prompts me to do something with reference information for table creation. It works with standard iParts and with iAssemblies, which have tables embedded into them, which I suspect it reads out. Would I need to embed a custom table into my production assemblies and then write some iLogic to populate it with data from the assemblies iCopies? I think that could work. Or is there perhaps an easier way? This seems like a logical enough desire from the users of iCopies to implement it along with the base functionality, so maybe Inventor can do this out-of-the-box, and I just overlooked how to do so. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
