This Bearcat was delivered to the US Navy in 1948. It spent most of its military time in storage and was retired from the USN in 1957 after not really doing much. In 1958, it was acquired by a private owner and used as a photo recon plane. From 1964 to 1998 this Bearcat flew as a racer display plane under various owners. In 1998, it was acquired by the Heritage Flight Museum in Spokane and was restored. It was acquired by the Erickson Aircraft Collection in 2021.
