Sony has announced that pre-orders for God of War Laufey open on 29 September, without naming a price for either edition.

Santa Monica Studio detailed the game’s editions in a post on the PlayStation Blog, and the announcement names two PS5 editions, a Standard and a Digital Deluxe, each carrying the same pre-order bonuses: the Last Wish Armor Set, a Phranque Golden Leaves appearance, and an in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales and Catalyst, plus a digital mini artbook and the official soundtrack.

That gap is unusual for a first-party pre-order announcement going live the following morning. Sony has not given a price in Australian dollars or any other currency, and none of the announcement text suggests one will arrive before the store pages update on 29 September. Until then, Australian shoppers have no local pricing to work with.

The post also makes no mention of a Collector’s Edition. That is a notable absence for a mainline God of War release, though Sony has not said whether one is coming later.

Beyond the edition contents, the announcement introduces Faye’s new weapon, the Serpent Bow. According to the post, the bow can go “from dormant to notched at lightning speed” , and a full press on the aim trigger gives Faye more precise aim and increased draw distance, letting her stack up to five arrows for a charged volley.

The physical Standard Edition’s pre-order bonuses arrive via a download code rather than on the disc, requiring an internet connection and a PlayStation account. That is worth knowing for disc buyers: the bonus content is not strictly physical.

God of War Laufey is reportedly the first mainline God of War game to star a protagonist other than Kratos, with players controlling Faye, Kratos’s Norse wife, who died before the events of the 2018 game. The game launches on PS5 on 16 February 2027.
