Pre-orders for God of War: Laufey are now open, with Sony making the game available to reserve from 10 a.m. local time on September 29. The game launches February 16, 2027, exclusively on PS5, giving players their first chance to lock in a copy ahead of release.

"When you purchase your copy of God of War Laufey before launch you will receive" the Last Wish Armor Set, Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and an in-game resource pack, Santa Monica Studio Communications Director Grace Orlady wrote in the official PlayStation announcement.

The announcement includes a new look at Faye's combat, centered on the Serpent Bow, whose different firing modes and Scales can change how she approaches fights.

What Every Pre-Order Gets

Anyone who purchases God of War: Laufey before launch gets three items: the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance cosmetic and an in-game resource pack. The armor and Phranque appearance are marked as items that unlock through story progression rather than becoming available immediately.

"Available via download code for physical Standard Edition. Internet connection and account for PlayStation required," Santa Monica Studio says in the official pre-order announcement. For the physical Standard Edition, Sony says the items are provided through a download code, so buyers need an internet connection and a PlayStation account to redeem them.

Sony has announced a Digital Deluxe Edition alongside the Standard Edition. It adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, an additional in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official digital soundtrack.

Sony has not included a U.S. price in its September 28 announcement, so the previously reported $79.99 figure should not be presented as confirmed yet. Regional PlayStation Store listings may also differ.

"The Serpent Bow can be equipped with different types of Scales that will change both the look of the weapon, as well as the type of playstyle it specializes in via a unique perk," Santa Monica Studio says.

"By fully pressing down the aim trigger, Faye will have more precise aim and increased draw distance," while a half press puts her into "a more mobile hip-fire stance," Santa Monica Studio says in its combat breakdown.

A half press switches to a more mobile hip-fire stance designed for close-range combat. Faye can fire a cluster of arrows while moving and use the quick-fire attacks to keep airborne enemies in play as she switches between weapons and abilities.

The bow also supports rapid-fire, explosive and multi-target arrows. Its Scales provide additional specialization, while Faye's broader gear system lets players customize her sword's Blade and equip Catalysts with different effects.

"Death was supposed to be the end, but for Laufey (Faye), warrior and wife to Kratos, a new adventure is just beginning," Santa Monica Studio said when it first revealed the game.

The game launches exclusively on PS5 on February 16, 2027. Pre-orders are now open, with the Standard and Digital Deluxe versions sharing the same three pre-order bonuses; the Deluxe Edition adds the Dark Alchemy gear, extra resources, digital artbook and soundtrack.

The more consequential extra is the Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, because Sony says the Scales affect how the Serpent Bow plays rather than simply changing its appearance.
