The genome sequence of the Brown-tail moth, Euproctis chrysorrhoea (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Euproctis chrysorrhoea (Brown-tail; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Erebidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 492.14 megabases and 492.85 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.9%) was scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.56 kilobases. Gene annotation of the haplotype 1 assembly by Ensembl identified 12,010 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
