A mischievous cat sparked a chaotic chase at a pet hospital after making a daring escape from its carrier.

CCTV footage captures the moment two veterinarians open the cage in a small clinic room in Guangdong, China, only for the white feline to suddenly make a break for freedom.

The bewildered-looking cat darted around the room as the vets scrambled to catch it, proving far too quick for them to handle.

In a bid to escape, the agile feline climbed up the wall before turning its attention to an honour banner hanging nearby.

The cat repeatedly grabbed at the velvet pennant, seemingly attempting to use it to reach a cabinet above. 

But its climbing efforts ended in failure as the banner gave way and the cat tumbled back to the floor several times.

One of the veterinarians then tried to use the carrier to corner the runaway animal, but the crafty cat managed to dodge him once again.

After several frantic attempts, the vets finally managed to trap the feline when it jumped into a corner of the room.

The mischievous escape artist was eventually restrained, bringing the unexpected drama to an end.
