Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection is rated Everyone 10+ by the ESRB

The Two Point franchise has been getting a lot of love recently and the latest release is the ultimate edition of what started it all.

We love to hear from our visitors even if you disagree so please leave a respectful comment after reading this review. 🤝

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection screenshot 1If my local hospital looked this nice, I'd hang out in it

I didn't play the original release of Two Point Hospital but I've sunk many hours into Two Point Museum and can't wait for every new piece of DLC the developers think-up. Picking up Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection, I was cautious as I wasn't sure if it would be able to keep me as entertained as Museum did. Thankfully, my fears were assuaged very quickly. 👩‍⚕️ v1d30chumz xzyzteywxtywze

In Two Point Hospital, you build dozens of hospitals from the ground-up, each with some kind of twist that makes every hospital feel different. Some hospitals require heating or cooling, others have you dealing with frequent earthquakes that damage machinery, and some will take up valuable space with time portals that deliver patients from the caveperson era. As the Full Health Collection includes all DLC and updates that were released in the past, there's a ton of content here to keep you busy. 🩺

In true Two Point form, Two Point Hospital is as silly as it gets. For example, patients will walk around on all fours while waiting to be treated in a Doghouse or keep doing their best Elvis impression while waiting for treatment from a psychiatrist. The treatment rooms are just as fun to research, place, and decorate, especially once you've unlocked more items. You actually start out with a very small inventory but over time, you'll unlock a long list of options including things that definitely don't belong in a hospital like giant arcade machines and an insect circus. Having played Two Point Museum, I was excited to see how many items I recognised as staples in the franchise in their original form such as the appearance of monobeasts and a hospital inside Underlook Hotel. 🏨

Not all items can be placed in all rooms, however, and the limited customisation options can make hospitals start to all look the same. I was happy to at least find the template option that let me save a template for a room and then use it in another hospital because placing the same objects in the same places over and over was starting to get tedious. More options for theming, colours, and patterns would have been very welcome, though. 🎨

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection screenshot 3I bet a lot of folks will end up in the hospital with this shark lurking around

Most hospitals start out with nothing but an empty building where you'll place a reception desk and a GP's office to get things going. You'll need to hire an assistant to work at the desk and a doctor to treat patients as well as a nurse once you start building wards and diagnostics and a janitor to maintain all the equipment. Each person you hire will have one or many skills that they've already learned or you can take them off the floor to train them. Skills make staff more efficient and in some cases, unlock new options like psychiatry or surgery. 🤕

Staff must be kept happy with a comfortable and attractive workplace as well as a staff room and breaks or you risk them quitting. I found this system generally intuitive except I wish there were more hints about how to use staff efficiently as once your hospital grows, it can be very difficult to stay on top of what everyone is doing and how to maximise your output. 💊

You start out with only a few options for diagnostics and treatment but over time, you'll unlock more, forcing you to decide what to build first and pay attention to trends in illnesses. Two Point Hospital drip-feeds you new illnesses and mechanics and it's just enough to keep you coming back for more. Some hospitals have quite unique constraints that mix-up the challenge such as one at a university where you must train all student doctors and nurses from the ground-up, dealing with their many mistakes as they level-up their skills. Another one has you dealing with time portals that take up valuable space and spew fish creatures looking for treatment. It all gets very silly, very fast and it's surprising how even though most hospitals look similar, they require being run quite differently. 🤒

I touched on it a little earlier but providing tutorials isn't Two Point Hospital's strong suit. You're plopped into a hospital with a paragraph or 2 explaining the overall challenge of the area and that's it; well, besides the odd high-level hint given when things are going horribly wrong. Two Point Hospital requires a lot of micromanaging and research if you really want things to run efficiently. In some of my hospitals, I'm not sure why patients keep dying and in others, I can't seem to get the line for the GP below double digits. I wish the hint system was more helpful so I didn't have to go elsewhere to figure out what may be causing these difficulties. I actually suspect there might be bugs causing some of this as it seems to come out of nowhere. 🩹

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection screenshot 5What the heck is going on in this neighbourhood anyway?

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection has a lot of DLC and I mean a lot! 7 DLC packs, in fact, and these expand the Two Point Hospital universe in many ways. You'll build hospitals in snowy mountains and jungle terrain, fend off aliens causing mischief, focus on environmentalism, help Hollywood actors learn what it's like to be a doctor with real patients, time-travel, and dispatch ambulances and helicopters. Some of the DLC-specific hospitals have new ways to succeed at the levels beyond the classic method of earning cash and reputation such as improving your eco-rating or completing objectives to earn new plots and expand. This is a great selection of DLC and it's awesome to have it all in one place in this edition. 💉

Two Point Hospital has a lot of menus to navigate through and sometimes, it can be a little annoying. When I want to expand or move something, it will sometimes require a choreographed dance of moving items in the hospital to make space for it and I wish it could be more streamlined. In addition, when placing a new room on a larger map, it can be really hard to navigate due to the limited camera. Finally, I had an issue where descriptions for some menu items were always off by one which made it confusing to read. It would have been nice to see these annoyances remedied in this version. 🌿

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection screenshot 6I bet Homer Simpson ends up here a lot

Two Point Hospital: Full Health Collection is a no-brainer for anyone familiar with the franchise as it contains a ton of content and the original formula is still a blast to play all these years later.

  • + Silly situations, illnesses, and treatments will keep you laughing
  • + Unlocking new systems switches things up
  • + Many hours of content with lots of variety
  • - Limited customisation options can make the many hospitals look too similar
  • - Menus and navigation are a bit rough
  • - Could use more hints + possible bugs

7.7 out of 10
