This week on the CORVETTE TODAY Podcast, your host Steve Garrett dives into some Corvette history as his guest is Gary Konner, former sales manager and son to Malcolm Konner whose New Jersey Chevrolet dealership was the center of the Corvette world during the 1970s and into the 1990s. Gary Konner shares some great stories about the dealership’s heydays which included the annual Summer Corvette Show featuring Zora Arkus-Duntov, Dave McLellen, and other Corvette celebrities. After his passing in 1983, Malcolm Konner would become the only Chevrolet dealer to be honored with a special edition Corvette.

In the early days of Corvette, there were a small handful of dealerships that truly forged the way in promoting America’s Sports Car. One of those dealerships was Malcolm Konner Chevrolet.

This dealership was a trailblazer when it came to promotion of Corvette, creativity in sales and offering Corvette enthusiasts one-of-a-kind opportunities related to Corvette.

Your CORVETTE TODAY host, Steve Garrett, welcomes Gary Konner, the son of Malcolm Konner, to the show. Steve and Gary trace the history of the dealership, talk about how they promoted Corvette and highlight some of the famous celebrities and Corvette VIP’s that would come to the dealership. It’s a look into the great relationship and history that Malcom Konner Chevrolet shared with Corvette.
