Lenovo has finally released one of its cheaper 14-inch ThinkPad laptops in the US. Available for just over $1,100, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 (AMD) comes with dual SSD slots, an AMD Zen 5 processor, upgradeable RAM and a 400-nit display.
With that being said, Lenovo is currently selling a single configuration in North America. Specifically, the company is offering the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 with the Ryzen AI 7 345. By contrast, more powerful Ryzen AI 7 445 and Ryzen AI 7 450 options are available elsewhere. Moreover, Lenovo sells the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 (AMD) in North America with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 512 GB M.2 2242 SSD and a 48 Wh battery.
Incidentally, the laptop contains a second SSD slot that accepts up to M.2 2280 drives, too. Please note that a higher-capacity 64 Wh battery is available in other countries, as is a 120 Hz VRR and 1800p display. In comparison, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 (AMD) is available in North America for $1,109 and CAD 1,539 with a 1200p and 60 Hz alternative that delivers up to 400 nits peak brightness.
