Adobe has launched three new artificial intelligence audio tools within its Firefly creative platform. Designed to generate custom music, synthetic speech, and sound effects, this update aims to streamline production workflows for content creators, video editors, and marketing professionals.

The feature expansion follows a recent joint study by Adobe and the Berklee College of Music, which revealed that 32.7% of video creators, musicians, and marketers already use AI-generated audio in their final published projects.

The first feature is an AI music generator that produces fully licensed soundtracks tailored to match the specific duration and tone of video projects. Users can input text prompts specifying parameters such as musical style, genre, production purpose, and energy level to refine the audio output.

The second addition, Generate Speech, converts written text scripts into realistic voiceovers. The system features a catalog of 45 diverse voice profiles spanning multiple gender presentations and age brackets. To ensure flexibility and compliance, the tool operates using both commercial-safe generation models and the ElevenLabs Multilingual V2 model.

The third tool, Generate Sound Effects, produces realistic foley and audio textures based on descriptive prompts or suggestions refined by the built-in AI assistant. The interface mirrors standard digital audio workstations (DAWs), complete with a multitrack timeline, individual volume controls, and precise audio waveform alignment.

While these tools provide an efficient alternative for rapid prototyping, social media production, and basic multimedia projects, they are positioned as assistive workflow enhancements rather than full replacements for professional sound designers, voice actors, and commercial music composers.
