Philadelphia native Colman Domingo receives honorary degree from Temple University

Дата публикации: 06-05-2026 16:01:36

Renowned for his remarkable talent, award-winning actor Colman Domingo has achieved another milestone in his career.
On Wednesday, the university celebrated the class of 2026 during its universitywide commencement ceremony at the Liacouras Center.
This year’s degree recipients had the opportunity to hear from Domingo, who delivered the commencement address during the ceremony.
“You did it, you put in the work, you put in the effort, you woke up, you showed up, you showed out,” Domingo said as he spoke to the graduates.
Domingo has received two Oscar nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. He has also earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, recognizing his role in “Euphoria.” Additionally, in 2024, he was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
Now the Philadelphia native has a new honor: he is “Temple Made.”
Domingo, who attended Temple in the late 1980s and left school to pursue acting, was also awarded an honorary degree from the university.
The university said more than 8,100 graduates earned degrees during the 2025–2026 academic year and will now count themselves among Temple’s more than 380,000 living alumni.
Congratulations to all the 2026 graduates!
