Roy Kenneth "Bo" Hollis, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Bo was born on June 6, 1948, in Fyffe, Al., to the late Euclid "Coot" Hollis and Freddie Mae Hollis. Throughout his career, he was employed by the Chattanooga Times Free Press and Southern Champion Tray before retiring.

Bo was the best brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and fan. He loved many things in life, but nothing more than his family, especially his nieces and nephews. His passion for Corvettes spanned more than five decades and brought him countless friendships and memories.

Bo never met a stranger and was known throughout Chattanooga for his outgoing personality, generous spirit, and genuine friendship. Larger than life, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether attending Riverbend Festival, Nightfall, Riverfront Nights, or visiting favorite local gathering places such as Champy's and Portofino's in East Ridge, Bo was a familiar face who seemed to know everyone—and everyone who knew Bo, loved him.

A devoted sports fan, Bo proudly supported the University of Tennessee Volunteers and was a loyal supporter of Chattanooga Mocs football and basketball. He valued friendships deeply, and his family is especially grateful for the loyal friends who enriched his life over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Witt.

He is survived by his sisters, Martha (Doyle) Attaway of Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Becky (Mickey) McCormick of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Witt of Benton, Tn.; and nine nieces and nephews: Kim (David) Richmond of Benton, Tn.; Taffi (Patrick) McBride of Chattanooga; Kristie (Roger) Ownby of LaFayette; Jennifer McCormick Daniel of Rossville; Dusty (Allison) McCormick of Chattanooga; Denver Attaway of Lookout Mountain; Dr. David (Margaret) Attaway of Seattle; Mary (Omar) Vaid of Orlando, Florida; and Alyson (Patrick) Nichols of Brooklyn.

Bo is also survived by 12 great-nieces and great-nephews: Haley (Steven) Jackson, Will (Megan) Richmond, Ben (Riley) Ownby, Mary (Cory) Taylor, Raleigh (Caleb) Epperson, Claire Woodard, Charlie Vaid, Dougie Attaway, Josie Attaway, Iris Vaid, Hollis McCormick, and Baby Girl Nichols; six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews: Gracie and Caroline Jackson, Aiden and Addy Richmond, Baby Girl Epperson, and Baby Boy Ownby; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and cherished friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 3-8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Baptist Church, 3604 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, Tn., with Rev. Dale Kidd officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South in Rossville, Georgia.

Pallbearers will be Steve Lowery, Darryl Emery, Mayor Brian Slatton, Greg Skiles, Rowdy Henson, and Tom Wadsworth.
