Married At First Sight's 'villain' Anthony Manton has slammed his portrayal on the reality show during a phone interview with his TAB radio employers on Tuesday.

The Daily Telegraph reported the furious race broadcaster was frustrated with his portrayal on the show, labeling it 'heavily edited' and far from the truth.  

'Anyone who watches those reality shows and thinks they are real must still believe in the tooth fairy,' Anthony ranted.

On Tuesday night's episode, the 33-year-old was seen blowing up with anger after the WiFi went down in his apartment, making a furious call through to customer service to fix the problem.

But on Wednesday, Anthony told his radio colleagues the bad moment was just a tiny part of a four day home visit, which included a trip to the races and dinner with family and friends.

 'In four days that’s all they play, a 30 second clip. That’s a great example of how heavily edited these shows are,' he said. 

Last week Anthony left Cheryl Maitland in tears at a dinner party, publicly berating her decision to stay in the house, saying she would look like a  'f***ing idiot' if her new relationship with Andrew didn't work out.

'Putting yourself into this position though, where you're having a second time round. You've gotta get it right,' Anthony said.

Nadine later blasted her TV husband's take down of Cheryl, telling The Fix: 'It was awful to see that the guy I was committed to and married to was dishing it out.' 

During a commitment ceremony after the dinner party, Anthony reaffirmed his wish to stay in the show, saying: 'As far as I'm concerned, Nadia's mine.' 

But he later left Nadia upset in the episode afterwards, telling her to have more direction and re-pursue her career in the media. 

'You probably should. You need to have a bit more direction. Head back down that track, I think,' Anthony said.  

Anthony acknowledged he had become the show's villain, with News Corp Australia reporting him saying that reality shows always need a bad guy. 

'In my case, there needs to be a villain in these shows, and I happen to be it on Married At First Sight,' he said.
