He was widely regarded as the 'villain' on last year's Married At First Sight with viewers labeling him both 'arrogant' and 'controlling.'

And although this season has seen Dean Wells take the baton, it seems Anthony Manton has struggled to let his title go. 

After reading a recent article in which his former co-star Nick Furphy said Anthony was lucky to be painted in a good light, on Thursday, the 34-year-old took to Instagram Stories to call him 'Teflon.'

'That's why we called you teflon... nothing stuck to @nick_furphy86,' he captioned.

Anthony's comments come after Nick confessed to the Triple M Grill Team that he was lucky to be portrayed as a good guy on the show because that was not the case behind the scenes.

'To be honest, I was a little s**t behind the scenes and they've made me look like an angel so I was very lucky,' he admitted. 

He also alleged during his chat that producers were forced to portray him well as he was part of one of the show's few successful pairings. 

And it seems as though Nick didn't take the slander too hard, telling Daily Mail Australia: 'Anthony's nickname for me was Teflon. Sh*t doesn't stick.'  

And it's not the first time Anthony has given his two cents regarding contestants on the show.

Sharing some wise advice to this year's villain Dean earlier in the year, Anthony suggested he 'find a rock and crawl under it.' 

'Find a rock and crawl under it buddy,' he wrote on a promo photo of the skateboard and rapping enthusiast.  

Anthony bluntly wrote to Dean in a post shared to his Instagram story on Friday.

He added: 'You're probably not a bad bloke... but... You're gonna slammed.' 

After rising to fame alongside bride Nadia Stamp in the 2017 series of Married At First Sight, Anthony caused quite the commotion when it was revealed he dumped his bride 'like a hotcake' one day after filming wrapped up.
