On Monday's episode of Married At First Sight, newlyweds Belinda Vickers and Patrick Dwyer had their first training session under the guidance of sexologist, Alessandra Rampolla.

The couple were advised to gaze into each other's eyes for several minutes straight, while standing close and holding hands, to spend 10 minutes kissing, and have a 'melted hug', which saw them press their bodies against each other. 

The smooching session proved too much for Patrick, who compared the length of the effort to cooking chicken.   

'That's a long time. Like, 10 minutes is a long time to just make out. You can cook chicken in 10 minutes, so it's a long time,' he said. 

Fans watching at home were horrified by the intimacy training, comparing it to a 'car crash' and calling it 'cringe'. 

One person Tweeted: 'I feel bad for the cameraman filming Patrick and Belinda right now.' 

Another wrote:  'My god it's like watching a car crash, I wanna look away but I just can't. Both Belinda and Patrick make this 10 times more unbearable'. 

Someone else joked: 'The sexual chemistry between Belinda and Patrick is electric' and shared a gif of a couple embracing awkwardly. 

One more Tweeted: 'Patrick comparing chicken cooking times to this exercise. This is not going to end well'. 

Another fan watching the show wrote: 'Oh yeah, I'm melting alright, melting from bloody cringe!' 

Someone else joked: 'Alessandra giving Belinda and Patrick a prescription for 12 CCs of sexy gazing into each other’s eyes'. 

The advice did work out in the end, with the couple growing closer and sharing a smooch once the sex expert had left the room.
