Former Married At First Sight star Tamara Joy left some fans confused on Friday after she promoted a contraceptive app on Instagram.

The 32-year-old shared a photo of herself holding a thermometer, which at first glance looked similar to an at-home pregnancy test.

One of her followers even commented 'congratulations!!!', after seemingly confusing Tamara's sponsored post for a pregnancy announcement.

But she revealed in the caption it was actually an advert for a birth-control app, which tracks women's hormone levels. 

'"Let's talk birth control!" ⁣I personally cannot take the contraception pill as it affects my body and mood wayyy to [sic] much,' she began. ⁣⁣

'I believe having a choice on what goes into our body's [sic] is very important! Every woman is different and we all have different needs... ⁣⁣ 

'There are only certain days of the month you are fertile and can get pregnant. The app is powered by an algorithm that is able to identify your daily fertility status based on your basal body temperature!'

She added: 'All I do is take my temperature in the morning and add the data into the app! I am soooo happy I have found this app.' ⁣⁣

Tamara also spoke about the app in a series of videos posted to Instagram Stories. 

'For me it's actually been amazing, because I cannot take a standard contraceptive pill. It doesn't go well with my body, basically. It's not a vibe and it turns me into a monster,' she laughed.

Earlier this week, Tamara stripped down to a tiny bikini as she transformed an old table and chairs she found on the side of the road into a stylish outdoor furniture set.

The former reality star showed off her incredible figure in a tiger-print bikini top and G-string as she explained: 'Me and [my friend] decided we are going to have an activities day today and not just sit by the pool and get drunk.

'We found an old table somebody left out on the side of the road and we stole it and we've got it to go with the house.'   

Tamara and her pal then painted the discarded table and two matching chairs a light pink colour.

After transforming the furniture in her backyard, the brunette showed off the finished product on Instagram.
