Today marks thirty three years since the Debian Linux distribution was started by the late Ian Murdock.

It was on 16 August 1993 that Ian Murdock was announced and has continued on since while also serving as the basis for Ubuntu Linux and countless other Debian derivatives over the years.

While Linux has been the main focus of Debian over the 33 year history, let's not forget about Debian GNU/kFreeBSD and Debian GNU/Hurd too.
