When it comes to the watchdog driver changes for Linux 7.3, standing out is the new Lenovo driver for their upcoming ThinkEdge AI edge computing systems.

Lenovo has contributed the "lenovo_se30g2_se60_wdt" driver to the mainline Linux kernel as the new watchdog driver for their ThinkEdge SE30 Gen2 and SE60 computers. The just under 300 lines of C code enables the watchdog timer on these systems and interfacing with the Linux watchdog framework for being able to reset the system in case of any hangs/crashes.

The ThinkEdge SE30 G2 can be configured with up to an Intel Core 7 150U and ships with either Windows 11 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as an industrial PC for AI edge computing, digital signage, or other industrial tasks.

The Thinkedge SE60 features the newer Arrow Lake processors with up to the Core Ultra 7 256H Processor. Certified for both Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux, the SE60 is similarly designed for edge AI computing and other industrial tasks or computing in harsh environments. And now with Linux 7.3, both of these ThinkEdge systems have watchdog coverage to enhance the Linux experience especially for those running these rugged systems in headless configurations.
