Phoebe Burgess has appeared to make a cryptic comment on Instagram, just hours after her ex-husband Sam Burgess welcomed a new child.

The former wife of the footballer shared a video of her two young children, who she shares with Sam, riding in a pedal car around Centennial Park in Sydney. 

The 35-year-old tellingly captioned the clip: 'A solo effort around Centennial with two very cute deadweights'. 

Phoebe and Sam's two kids, daughter Poppy, six, and son Billy, four, beamed in the video as their mum cycled them around the ironic park.

She scored the short clip to Matthew Wilder's 1983 hit Break My Strike, with the song playing, 'Ain't nothing gonna break my stride, ain't nobody gonna slow me down, oh no, I've got to keep on moving.'

It came just hours after NRL star Sam revealed he had welcomed his first child with his fiancée Lucy Graham.

The 34-year-old announced the exciting news on Channel Seven's Sunrise, revealing the couple welcomed a baby girl named Robbie on Wednesday.

'[It happened] during grand final week, we're cheering. I'm on very limited sleep and am getting used to that again but it's great!' the proud father said.

The sports star added that both Lucy and their newborn daughter are 'doing really well'.

'She is fantastic and beautiful just like her mother,' Sam added.

Sam and Phoebe were married for four years, with their divorce plagued by acrimony.

The Burgesses wed in 2015, separated in late 2018 and resumed their relationship in early 2019. 

They split permanently in October that year and later divorced.

Sam, formerly of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, admitted on the latest season of SAS Australia to cheating on his wife with a woman in Melbourne in 2017. 

He and Lucy revealed they were expecting their first child together back in March.

The former Rabbitohs player proposed to Lucy in June, just nine months after they went public with their relationship. 

Lucy used to be a member of British girl group The Ultra Girls, who were featured heavily on The X Factor UK in 2009. 

Sam, who was born in West Yorkshire, England, has known Lucy for about 20 years.
