A collaborative research paper ‘The Case for an Ethical Black Box’ by Prof Marina Jirotka (and Professor Alan Winfield of University of the West of England, Bristol) is cited in this Guardian article about Robot ethics – a topic which will become ever more relevant as robot technology develops to become part of everyday life.
The original paper proposes that robots and autonomous systems should be equipped with the equivalent of a Flight Data Recorder to continuously record sensor and relevant internal status data. Read more here:
