STAFFORD, VA — A report of an erratic driver ended with a DUI arrest after deputies say a woman was unable to maintain her lane before crashing into a fence in Stafford County.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:47 p.m. Thursday, July 24, on Truslow Road.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after receiving reports of a suspected impaired driver.
Investigators said the driver was unable to maintain her lane before striking a fence.
Deputies reported the driver showed signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol and glassy eyes. Authorities said she admitted she did not have insurance.
Field sobriety tests were administered, but the driver allegedly refused to provide a breath sample both at the scene and later at the Sheriff’s Office.
The driver was identified as Eleni Pakhchanian, 29, of Manassas.
She was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to breath testing and driving without insurance.
The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
