Never type in the wrong language again thanks to this simple keyboard layout indicator, which shows a colored border around the screen for every language
Switching between languages when typing in text is easily done using a key combination on your keyboard or using the mouse cursor to select the desired language from near the tray area. As it happens, you might not always succeed in changing the keyboard layout and end up tying in another language that the one you are meant to. To avoid such situations, you can use GlowTyping to check out the keyboard layout that is currently selected, but without even taking a glance to the system tray area.
Displays an on-screen colored border for each keyboard layoutWhat GlowTyping actually does is surround the current screen with a colorful, semi-transparent border. Each keyboard layout has its own assigned color, so it is easy to be aware of the selected layout.
You need to let GlowTyping run silently in the system tray area if you want your keyboard’s layouts to be monitored. As you press the ALT-SHIFT/WIN-SPACE key combination, the current keyboard layout is changed and the color of the border is modified as well.
By default, GlowTyping is set to run at system startup, so you don’t need to worry about launching it. The right-click menu grants access to the application’s configuration file, where you can tamper with the default actions and settings of the application. For instance, you can change the border width (thickness) in pixels and modify its opacity level to make it more or less transparent.
The safety polling interval is another parameter that you can freely change in the configuration file, along with the colors associated to each keyboard layout. GlowTyping comes with three preconfigured color codes associated to three languages. By default, the application does not show a border for English, but you only need to uncomment a line to toggle the English border as well.
Simple keyboard layout indicator for WindowsWith the help of GlowTyping, you can easily identify the keyboard layout that is currently selected. This allows for faster and more efficient typing when having to switch between languages, especially since the border is semi-transparent and can be easily spotted using the peripheral vision.
