Honeycomb Aeronautical is packaging its Foxtrot Aviation Stick and new Throttle Box into a new Foxtrot Takeoff Kit, scheduled to arrive in the U.S. on August 31 for $179.99. For flight sim players building out a cockpit on a budget, the bundle’s appeal is fairly obvious: it adds a purpose-built throttle unit to Honeycomb’s $149.99 stick for only $30 more.

Instead of a combat-focused HOTAS, the Foxtrot Takeoff Kit covers the core controls needed to fly a range of private and commercial aircraft without immediately investing in separate rudder pedals, yokes, quadrants, switch panels, and the desk space to accommodate all of them. The Throttle Box matches the design and footprint of the Foxtrot Aviation Stick, and takes up less space than a typical throttle setup.

The new Throttle Box is designed to span both general aviation and commercial aircraft, with four customizable levers, reverse-thrust support, an integrated parking brake, a landing gear lever, and interchangeable lever sets. It is more flexible than a single-engine throttle controller, particularly for players jumping between a Cessna and the larger multi-engine aircraft available in Microsoft Flight Simulator and other flight-sim software.

The package also includes the Foxtrot Aviation Stick (check out our review).. The stick uses 16-bit Hall Effect sensors and an adjustable-resistance gimbal system, two details that matter more than the usual “professional-grade” label. Hall Effect sensors avoid the mechanical wear of conventional potentiometers, while independent tension adjustment allows players to set pitch and roll resistance to their preference. Honeycomb has also built a twist-rudder axis into the stick, allowing players to control yaw without pedals. Dedicated pedals are still the more natural choice for enthusiasts running realistic airliner or combat setups, but integrated twist control is a practical inclusion for players with limited room or a more casual sim rig.

Key specs of the bundle include:

  • Foxtrot Aviation Stick with 16-bit Hall Effect sensors
  • Adjustable tension and detent-free gimbal movement
  • Built-in twist-rudder yaw control
  • Ambidextrous grip design
  • Four-lever Throttle Box with reverse thrust support
  • Dedicated gear and parking brake controls
  • Programmable buttons, hat switches, rotary inputs, and engine switches
  • PC and Mac support for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane 11 and 12, and Prepar3D

The official Foxtrot Takeoff Kit and standalone Throttle Box will be available from Honeycomb beginning August 31. If you can’t wait for the official release, Focus Camera is already offering the same stick-and-throttle combination as a retailer-created bundle, though buyers should expect separate packaging rather than the official kit box.
