Alana Lister divided fans when she backflipped on her decision to break up with Jason Engler during Monday's episode of Married At First Sight.

After Jason broke down in tears and confessed he was falling in love with her, Alana revealed she was willing to give their relationship a chance.

Although some fans praised Alana for changing her decision last minute, others said they were 'disappointed' in her.

'Alana backflipping on breaking up with Jason, is like majority of the people I've slept with, underwhelming,' one person joked.

'Just lost all respect for Alana #MAFS,' another wrote, before a third commented: 'I'm so disappointed right now God damn it Alana.'

'Alana and Jason are the definition of chaotic,' echoed another.

'Well that was unexpected but you go girl,' quipped a fifth viewer.  

During Monday's episode of MAFS, Alana opted to stay with Jason despite being adamant she was going to break up with him.

Before arriving for their final vows, Alana said she was '100 per cent committed' to her decision to end her relationship with Jason.

But after the 35-year-old broke down in tears and confessed he was falling in love with her, she quickly backflipped on her decision.

'I've tried to drown my feelings for a while now,' he told her, before growing emotional and adding that he couldn't wait to 'live our happily ever after'.

After starting with her own prepared speech, it wasn't long before Alana threw her cards away, changing her mind at the last minute.

'You hurt me really, really badly. I have huge doubts in trusting what you say. I truly believe that you are not ready to settle down,' she began.

She then continued: 'But, like... If you're willing to try, I'm willing to try. I wanna see if we can work it out.'

Noticing the sudden change in tone of what she was saying, a bemused Jason asked Alana if she'd changed her mind.

'You said you were falling in love with me,' she said simply.

Alana later confessed that she'd even surprised herself with her last minute change of mind.

'This morning I was 100 per cent confident... There's so many logical reasons why Jason and I wouldn't be able to be together,' she began.

'But hearing Jason saying that he was falling in love with me, that's a huge thing to say, and that's not something I expected at all.'

After exchanging their final vows on a stunning beach, the happy couple then walked back up the sand hand-in-hand.

'I feel like there's something between Jason and me that is... It's hard to describe,' she continued.

'And it just kept us coming back to each other. I don't know what love is, but... this could be love.'
