Jason Engler is apparently set to become the latest reality TV star to sign up for an OnlyFans account.

In an Instagram Stories Q&A with fans on Monday, the 35-year-old former Married At First Sight star told fans he was planning on signing up to the raunchy website.

He also claimed that developing a public profile to attract more subscribers on OnlyFans was 'the only reason' people appeared on MAFS.

'Umm of course that's the only reason people go on MAFS right? Plus I need a new car so get subscribing,' he responded to a curious fan.

But in a statement to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, Jason clarified that he was only joking about signing up for the adult subscription service. 

OnlyFans is a subscription-based adult website where content can range from something as innocent as a suggestive selfie, all the way to hardcore pornography.

Several former reality stars have created profiles on the website after finding fame on reality TV.

Former Love Island stars Vanessa Sierra and Shelby 'Bilby' Mills, and Married At First Sight's Hayley Vernon are all part of a growing list of celebrities to join OnlyFans.

Jason was also asked about his on-off relationship with Alana Lister, who he split with shortly after filming MAFS.

Responding to a fan who asked if he'd ever reconcile with the 31-year-old school teacher, Jason gave a hard no. 

'Heaps of these ones... Short and long answer is never,' he responded.

Jason addressed their failed romance in a heartfelt post on Instagram in April.

'Unfortunately, we couldn't make it work outside of the experiment. Without outside influences I think we could have been an amazing couple but that wasn't to be...' he wrote. 

'Maybe in the next lifetime hey. Alana is every bit the amazing woman Australia has seen and she deserves all the love and happiness in the world.'

He added: 'As much as I wanted to give her that happiness I couldn't. I'll always have a place for you in my heart...'
