Anne Robinson is known for being able to hold back the years.

And, as she stepped out at the Burford Literary Festival in the Cotswolds on Saturday, the 70-year-old TV presenter showed off her age-defying looks once again.

The Watchdog host - who has previously been rather open about having undergone surgery to keep wrinkles at bay - looked younger than her years as she attended the annual event.

Her ensemble was slick and smart for the day - which saw her join Baroness Rebuck, the Chair of Penguin Random House UK - for a talk with festival-goers.

She donned a crisp light blue button-down shirt with a navy blazer, teamed with slightly billowing trousers in a matching shade and comfortable but stylish flats.

The TV favourite also covered her face with a pair of oversized burgundy shades, further adding to her markedly youthful appearance.

Anne looked in great spirits as she wandered through the festival in the morning, smiling and generally having a good time.

She was recently spotted out and about while taking a jog, as it emerged that she may have gone under the knife once again.

Although the star - often referred to as the Queen of Mean - has previously been open about having cosmetic help, experts said she may have had further work done.

Dr Mabroor Bhatty of Transform Cosmetic Surgery said: 'She's been very open in the past about having a face lift and I suspect she may have had another one.

He added: 'I wouldn't be surprised if she's had a neck lift to keep her jaw nice and defined. The treatments and procedures have worked well for her but age and gravity can't be kept at bay forever.'

The former Weakest Link presenter once said: 'My appearance is all down to maintenance. I'm like the Forth Rail Bridge. 

'I run, I have facials, I eat an awful lot of salmon and salad. If you want to expose bare arms in primetime, there's no choice.'

She also once defended her use of Botox, saying: ‘Do you know that the average woman of my age is sized between 16 and 18 and has at least two chins? I’ve nothing against that, but you can’t simply talk about age - you have to look at the restrictions of television.’ 

Anne's appearance even became a trending topic on Twitter after she made an appearance on the Watchdog anniversary show last month.

Taking to the social media site, one viewer wrote: ‘Watchdog at 30 - Anne Robinson can barely talk from all the Botox! She looks younger now than she did back in the 90’s,’ while another asked: ‘How can Anne Robinson look younger now than she did in 1989?’

The lack of movement in her face prompted one viewer to suggest: ‘Is Anne Robinson doing a ventriloquism act? #watchdogat30,’ and another commented: ‘Anne Robinson has so much Botox her face can’t move! At least she can’t do that stupid wink anymore.’

Others compared her to other stars who have had cosmetic work, with one writing: ‘Anne Robinson is younger now than she was in 1990’s, she is the BBC version of Cher and she knows it....LOVE HER!!! #watchdog.’
