When Cali (she/her) tried to set up her colleague Cezanne (they/them) with a friend, she didn’t realize she was actually doing her own romantic heavy lifting. The matchmaking attempt backfired in the most effective way possible, leading instead to a partnership that brought their Midwest family and friends together for a September creamery party. Since they had already officially married earlier in the month, this Wisconsin dairy farm wedding was purely about the celebration, the styling, and the local curds.

Botanical embroidery and “Just Married” fans

The day began with a focus on tactile, personality-driven fashion that rejected standard bridal tropes. Cali wore a white corset-style gown from Della Curve Bridal that featured a structured bodice and delicate feathered detailing at the shoulders.

She paired the look with a “Just Married” folding fan—a practical, graphic accessory for a sunny September day in Paoli. Her hair, styled by childhood friend Megan Steiner, was swept back to let the feathered shoulder detail do the talking.

Cezanne opted for a look that balanced classic tailoring with intricate botanical details. They wore a white short-sleeve button-down shirt paired with light-colored trousers that featured detailed floral and vine embroidery climbing up the legs.

Their jewelry was equally specific: a striking blue band from Nora Kogan and metal bands from Wwake.

Low-stakes arrivals and high-contrast decor

Because the legal pressure of the ceremony was already behind them, the “ceremony” portion of the day at Seven Acre Dairy Company felt more like an intentional welcome.

The venue offered a backdrop that felt more like a chic museum of dairy history than a traditional barn. Guests arrived to a space featuring white subway tile walls and exposed ductwork, which were warmed up by floral arrangements from daffodil*parker.

The dahlia-heavy arrangements sat in amber glass and terracotta jars, featuring a mix of deep red and bright orange blooms that felt grounded in the late summer season. Place settings featured minimalist menus with the couple’s names in a playful, loopy script, each adorned with a small paper flower. Even the “altar” space was simplified—no massive arch, just the clean lines of the dairy’s industrial architecture and the people they loved.

Heart patterns, neon signs, and soft-serve stations

As the sun began to dip, the party transitioned into a celebration of regional flavors and a major wardrobe pivot. Cali swapped her feathered gown for a sheer tulle overlay covered in oversized, colorful ruffled hearts. The graphic, rainbow-adjacent hearts popped against the creamery’s industrial white tile as they moved into the reception.

The reception space was a love letter to Wisconsin. Deep blue built-in shelving displayed vintage milk bottles and dairy memorabilia, while a “Butter Lovers Are Better Lovers” neon sign flickered nearby. Dinner skipped the standard “chicken or fish” monotony in favor of local flavor: a spread of local cheese curds and Hook’s Cheddar, followed by eggplant parmesan, seared salmon with summer squash, and heirloom chicken breast.

Instead of a towering tiered cake, the couple leaned into the venue’s strengths with a build-your-own soft-serve ice cream bar and a pile of brown butter chocolate chip cookies.

The transition to dancing happened under a vintage Pabst Blue Ribbon neon sign, where Greg Morrow from Kuhl Entertainment kept the energy moving. The floor-to-second-story windows of the creamery allowed the fading Wisconsin sunlight to hit the gold glitter on the tables as Cali and Cezanne celebrated their successful “matchmaking failure.”

Cali and Cezanne’s celebration offers a clear lesson in the value of the “Part II” wedding. By separating the legal ceremony from the big party, they were able to focus entirely on the hospitality and the fashion. They didn’t have to worry about the gravity of the vows because that work was already done, leaving them free to eat soft-serve and wear heart-covered tulle in a room full of people who probably still tease Cali about her failed matchmaking attempts.
