Sega’s speedy arcade racer Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is adding another group of iconic faces to its post-launch DLC line-up, and this time, it’s harnessing Turtle Power with the addition of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – who enter the fray as four playable racers alongside a new themed machine and course.
Inspired by the 2023 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the four turtles each come with their own stats and are split between the Speed (Leonardo), Power (Raphael), Handling (Donatello), Acceleration (Michelangelo), and archetypes. They can be used alongside their unique machine, the Pizzafire Van from the film, which has been visually modified to suit Sonic Racing: Crossworlds’ go-kart-esque designs and is also part of the Power archetype.
The DLC’s new course, New York City, will also be available as part of the game’s new course as its name suggests, takes place within the city as seen in the film. While its streets look normal at the start, things quickly grow chaotic as racers are dropped into its sewers, navigating through its winding curves and split paths. The action ramps up once players breach the surface once more, dropping them right in the middle of a city ravaged by a giant Mega Mutant, which they have to avoid alongside pools of Mutagen.
