I’m getting a reproducible PHP fatal error in Astra’s Elementor compatibility file, and it appears to break the Elementor editor.

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_data() in /wp-content/themes/astra/inc/compatibility/class-astra-elementor.php:388

Environment: Astra 4.13.7 (latest, no update available); active theme is an Astra child theme; Elementor 4.2.1 and Elementor Pro 4.2.1; WordPress 7.0.2; PHP 8.x.

It looks like line 388 calls ->get_data() on a value it expects to be an Elementor object, but Elementor 4.2.1 is returning a WP_Error object instead (which uses get_error_data(), not get_data()), and there is no is_wp_error() guard before the call, so PHP crashes.

This fatal fires on the Elementor editor’s REST request. The practical symptom is that the Elementor editor opens with a completely empty element tree on every page (canvas shows “Drag widget here”), even though the saved _elementor_data is fully intact and the front-end renders normally.

Questions: (1) Is this a known incompatibility between Astra 4.13.7 and Elementor 4.2.x, and is there a patch or hotfix? (2) Is there a known-good Astra version that is compatible with Elementor 4.2.1? (3) In the meantime, is there a safe, supported workaround (e.g., a filter or a guard) you would recommend?
