Hello, everyoneI have a quick question. One of the use cases for the MPLS control word is fragmentation."The fifth reason for the control word is the correct functioning of the fragmentation and reassembly of the frames. The PE routers can indicate whether they support fragmentation by signaling it when they advertise the VC label, or you can configure them to do fragmentation and reassembly. If the PE routers do support fragmentation, they can correctly reassemble received fragments if the control word is present."I have a question. This type of fragmentation isn't exactly the same as IP fragmentation, correct? If I understand this right, this is a different kind of fragmentation that only works if we have the control word enabled. I don't have any fragmentation information on my routers when using the control word in Cisco CML, they probably don't support it.My question is, why would a router use pseudowire fragmentation? Couldn't the ingress PE just fragment the IP packet and send that over the pseudowire? Instead of relying on the control word and using pseudowire fragmentation and re-assembly.Why can't the PE fragment the IPv4 packet before it enters the PW?Thank youDavid
