MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Russian businesses hope that India and China will not restrict trade with Russia following the adoption of the "sanctions from hell" law in the United States, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) President Alexander Shokhin told reporters.

"Of course, the key issues here are transportation and logistics problems, as well as payment and settlement difficulties. Naturally, there are secondary sanctions, when even partners who only yesterday expressed their willingness to cooperate are now beginning to fear secondary sanctions. This is particularly true amid the US Congress now passing the ‘hellish’ law that gives the US president’s executive branch the authority to impose 100% tariffs. Of course, many may waver. We hope that China and India will not," Shokhin said.

According to him, political support for business projects takes on particular importance under such conditions.

"Of course, the political component and political support for many projects are very important, as are, for example, transportation and logistics subsidies. This is very important for many companies. Unfortunately, the amount of such support is declining. And, of course, we are forced to fight for market niches abroad. There are no vacant spots, which means we have to compete with those already present in these markets. And one way to compete is by offering buyers favorable financial terms. When export-import banks in other countries can provide preferential loans extending over many years and can provide advance financing for certain projects, it is, of course, difficult for our exporters to compete," Shokhin said.
