Uber's surge pricing maps have been ever-changing in the 9 years I've been driving, but there's a "feature" that started a few months ago that is REALLY irritating.

There will be big clouds of red surge pricing around the center of the city, and the surge bonuses shown here and there will be something like $15, $12, $11. However, everywhere you drive in those red surge zones that isn't exactly on one of those spots will be something more like $5. I mean, you have to be VERY specifically on one VERY small spot in the middle of the $15 on the map to get $15.
