My non-OLED Steam Deck wont boot anymore. It seems to charge normally. Connecting it to the original power supply will turn the light on.
It was shut down using the steam UI one day and wouldn´t boot up the next.
Pressing the power button makes it give the power on chime, but that's it.
No fan spin, no internal or external display.
Rebooting into BIOS doesn´t work.
Hard reboot (long press of power button for 5 / 10 / 15 s) wont work.
Enabling battery safe ("*" + "...") works, I see the 3 LED blinks, but it doesn´t solve my problem.
Neither does booting without SD, SSD or battery connected.
Regardless of what I´m doing, pressing the power button will immediately create the chime, even if I do it every second. So it looks like it´s not even getting passed some initial power on test.
The deck was in my van over night, it might have hit 5 or 6°C, but not colder than that. It wasn´t dropped, hasn´t seen liquids or anything. Shutdown, put in case, removed from case, dead... :(
Steam Support says they have no idea and it seems to not be something they would offer complimentary repair for. Asked me to send it in for a 200€+Tax repair attempt with no guarantee.
So, any ideas would me most appreciated :)
