Concerns About Study on Fluoroquinolone Use and Risk of Development Of Aortic Aneurysm

To the Editor We read with great interest the study investigating the association between fluoroquinolone and the short-term risk of development of aortic aneurysm by Newton et al. This cohort study demonstrated that fluoroquinolones were associated with a higher incidence of aortic aneurysm than alternative antibiotics. Overall, it is a well-designed study; however, we have some serious concerns about the findings of this article.
