NVIDIA RTX 5090

NVIDIA has denied that the GeForce RTX 5090 will be discontinued. This came after rumors that the GB202 GPU used in this top-end model would be used fully for the RTX PRO Blackwell cards. But despite these statements, a well-known leaker has said that NVIDIA has set next January as the date to discontinue not only the RTX 5090, but also the 16 GB RTX 5080.

It was Moore’s Law Is Dead who gave these dates. He read a text from a major retailer saying that NVIDIA had set January 2027 as the date to discontinue these models.

This lines up with the upcoming CES in Las Vegas, which runs from January 6 to 9, since the text says it will happen in the first half of January.

The video also says that the last batch of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 would have arrived in September, while the last RTX 5080 batch will arrive at the end of this month. The retailer also says it has a product reference for the rumored NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 with 24 GB of VRAM. This also adds to the rumors that this model could appear soon, replacing the current 16 GB VRAM model.

This information is not confirmed for now, although several industry leakers have already talked about this rumored 24 GB RTX 5080, along with the end of the RTX 5090.
